TBS piss me off.

I used to really like them. But since seeing them at Slam Dunk in May and being ridiculously disappointed, I can’t stand them.

Slam Dunk 2012

Today has been incredible! Looking forward to sorting through and editing all my photos tomorrow :)

Caught Tony Thaxtons drum stick after Motion City Soundtrack, met Shane Henderson, who didn’t get my joke and thought I’d insulted him, awkward… we worked things out though :p also met Joe from Transit again and Matt from Set Your Goals for the first time which was pretty sweet :)

Into it, Over it was an amazing surprise. I had no idea what to expect but I was blown away by his set. Incredible guitarist and awesome songs :)

Say Anything played, as I expected, a great set and I even saw a guy cry when they came on. I’m assuming with happiness :p I met a lass before their set who shared the same passion I have for Max Bemis and the Say Anythings which was cool. Never met a SA fan before.

Lower Than Atlantis were, erm… poor.

Taking Back Sunday weren’t as amazing as I’d hoped. Adam was a mental twat and was far too full of himself. When he came up to the barriers near me, people were grabbing at him and I thought to myself ‘do you really wanna touch that??’ Sound quality for main stage was pretty poor throughout the day, so I guess that wasn’t TBS’s fault.

Hope I can go back again next year!

bands I’m seeing next week:

Slam Dunk on tour:
Hit the Lights
Transit
The Story So Far

Slam Dunk Festival:
Taking Back Sunday
Capdown
Into it, Over it
Cartel
Shane Henderson
Save Your Breath
While She Sleeps

Say Anything

There are a few sets at the Festival which I’ll have to leave early/arrive late for, but it looks like it’ll be an incredible day!!

The truth is…

…you could slit my throat and with my one last gasping breath I’d apologies for bleeding on your shirt.

Considering I’ve only know of La Dispute for a couple of weeks they’ve managed to get into my top 8 most played bands :o such an awesome band.

I may or may not have stolen this from Stew…

Choose your 10 favourite bands before reading the questions.

1. Brand New

2. Senses Fail

3. Taking Back Sunday

4. AFI

5. Ash

6. 30 Seconds to Mars

7. The Subways

8. Papa Roach

9. Dashboard Confessional

10. Death Cab For Cutie

First song you heard by 6?:

The Kill, I saw the video for it on TV and snubbed it off as emo shit. This was when I was in my Indie phase. I now LOVE that song and every other song written by this AMAZING band :D

Favourite song by 8?:

Oooh tricky one! :/ It used to be Blood Brothers but I think Dead Cell may have taken first place now.

What impact has 1 left on your life?:

They changed EVERYTHING!! I was still an Indie fag when I first heard Sic Transit Gloria by them and after several listens to the album Deja Entendu I fell madly in love with the band. I then started listening to other emo/alt bands and as a result my taste in genre changed completely. If it wasn’t for Brand New I would be NOTHING like I am now.

What’s your favourite lyric by 5?:

“I’ve been trying to discover, something that can last forever” - True Love 1980.

What is your favourite song by 7?:

Hmmm, ‘Oh Yeah’ probably. Was the first song I heard by them and probably the one I enjoy listening to the most. Closely followed by ‘Shake! Shake!’

Are there any songs by 3 that make you sad?:

TBS? Sad songs!? Yeah a few… probably ‘Your Own Disaster’ is the most depressing song, but I love it. “I don’t think you know what you’ve been missing”

What is your favourite song by 9?:

Again, difficult decision. I love nearly every song by Dashboard. ‘Vindicated’ or ‘Stolen’ I can’t choose between the two.

When did you first get into 2?:

I first heard them on Tony Hawks American Wasteland and I liked the song on there but then I didn’t listen to them for a few years. Then one day I wanted to find the song from Tony Hawks again and I then started listening to the rest of their music.

How did you get into 3?:

One of my friends I met at Uni told me to listen to Taking Back Sunday because they were similar to Brand New (not sure if I’ve mentioned this but I LOVE BRAND NEW!!). I told her that no one sounds like Brand New but I’d give them a listen.

What’s your favorite song by 4?:

Days of the Phoenix is pretty sick but then so is Darling, I Want to Destroy You… so one of them :)

What’s a good memory with 10?:

Never seen them live, but they remind me of Scrubs because that’s where I first heard them.

Is there a song by 1 that makes you happy?:

There aren’t really any happy songs by Brand New, but they have lots of songs that pretty much spell out how I feel about certain things and that makes me happy :) Seventy Times Seven is one that cheers me up.

Which of the above is your absolute favourite?:

BRAND-MOTHER FUCKIN-NEW!!!!!! Hands down.
