I have like, no major clashes!!

So I’m seeing TSSF in 3 days…

I had completely forgotten!

When I saw them this time last year I was in love with them, but now… not so much. It will be nice to see them live again (for the… 4th time? I think), but their new album kinda ruined it for me. Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay. It’s just no Under Soil and Dirt.

Slam Dunk 2013

We still have to wait for the stage times to know who we can see exactly, but from the stage splits it looks like I’ll get to see:

Tonight Alive
The Story So Far
Transit / Mallory Knox
Man Overboard
Ace Enders / Allister
The Wonder Years
The Early November
Andrew McMahon

Awesome.

Albums of 2013.

There have been some amazing releases already this year (and some poor ones…) so I thought I’d rank my preferences so far:

1. Paramore - Paramore 9/10 (239 plays)
2. Fall Out Boy - Save Rock and Roll 8.5/10 (190 plays)
3. Senses Fail - Renacer 7/10 (88 plays)
4. Mallory Knox - Signals 6.5/10 (179 plays)
5. The Story So Far - What You Don’t See 6/10 (82 plays)
6. Transit - Young New England 4/10 (39 plays)

and then later this year: Man Overboard, The Wonder Years, CIWWAF, Jimmy Eat World, 30STM, Andrew McMahon and Real Friends will be releasing new material too! Hell yeah 2013.

With the final Slam Dunk announcement, this is who I want to see:

All Time Low
Kids In Glass Houses
The Early November
Allister
Mallory Knox
Senses Fail
The Wonder Years
Man Overboard
[spunge]
Fireworks
Transit
The Story So Far
Handguns

Acoustic sets:
Andrew McMahon
William Beckett
Ace Enders
Class of ‘92

The last two years I saw 10 bands each time, which means I won’t be able to see 7 of the bands I’ve just listed. What a downer.

I don’t think I updated my own poster after the last announcement, so here it is. I’ve kind of massively gone off FYS since I added them to my poster, so I may remove them next time.
My top 5 ‘have to see’ bands are:
1) The Wonder Years2) The Early November3) Man Overboard4) Andrew McMahon5) Mallory Knox
I’m seeing Senses Fail and Handguns the night before in Newcastle, so unless there is no one else even slightly worth seeing playing when they are, I won’t see them at the festival.

We put some Pop Punk on at the party last night..

..to replace the dub step rubbish that had been on before and one of the girls turned to me looking pretty angry and said "you know it’s not 2006 anymore!!"

- what happened in 2006!?

My top albums of 2012.

1. The Early November - The Mother, The Mechanic, And The Path (513)

2. The Wonder Years - Suburbia I’ve Given You All and Now I’m Nothing (457)

3. Balance and Composure - Separation (451)

4. The Story So Far - Under Soil and Dirt (357)

5. Real Friends - Acoustic Songs EP (340)

6. The Early November - In Currents (323)

7. Into It. Over It. - Proper (315)

8. Mixtapes - Maps (293)

9. La Dispute - Wildlife (290)

10. Man Overboard - Real Talk (275)

I’ve started growing a beard, so I thought I’d document it :p Oh yeah, and my Real Friends tee arrived :D

Man, I’m actually shaking from excitement!!

Slam Dunk on tour

Decade: 8/10
I’d never heard them before but I was actually really impressed. Some great tracks which I’m definitely going to check out again.

The Story So Far: 10/10
Not much needs to he said for these guys. Incredible band, incredible set.

Transit: 9/10
Loved the set, played all my favourites. I really hope I can see them again someday.

Hit the Lights: 7/10
They have some great songs, but the set didn’t seem to go anywhere. The singer got angry with the crowd a few times when we didn’t laugh at his jokes which was a bit awkward. They closed with bodybag which was the highlight of the set for me.

Overall:
Great night, very tempted to go to the Nottingham date!!
